PRESS RELEASE-- Shame on Senator John McCain
Scottsdale, AZ – Yesterday, the United States Senate approved Senator McCain’s bill that requires women to register for the draft, despite the opposition from conservative leaders and organizations. While Senator McCain may think it is fine to draft women, Alex Meluskey has stood solidly against this bill and has argued its irrelevance to national security. Arizona needs a Senator who will take a principled stand and not politicize our national defense.
"The passage of Senator McCain’s bill is a terrible mistake, and I do not know how any Senator in good conscience could have supported the bill. While we should be working to strengthen national security, Senator McCain is more concerned with registering women for the draft," Alex Meluskey, U.S. Senate candidate, said today.
"While we should seek to increase our military and strengthen the NDAA, Senator McCain is worried about expanding the draft so he could send them off to fight his battles. We need more United States Senators who will protect our women and increase our national defense and less like John McCain,” said Meluskey.
The Arizona Republican U.S. Senate primary will take place on August 30th.
Small businessman, radio host and FAIRtax champion Alex Meluskey is running a grassroots campaign to take on sitting U.S. Senator John McCain in the Arizona Republican Primary in the same vein as now-Congressman Dave Brat’s historic 2014 takedown of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Mr. Meluskey is taking on the establishment in Washington, D.C. and an entrenched 5-term Senator at a time when America needs new ideas to solve our nation’s challenges.
