PRESS RELEASE–Arizona Senate Candidates McCain and Ward Fail to Protect Life
Scottsdale, AZ – Today, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) supported the creation of a multi-million dollar slush fund that will fund abortions internationally. Through this National Defense Authorization legislation abortions will be encouraged and funded by U.S. taxpayers.
One of his challengers, Kelli Ward, has stated publicly that the decision to obtain an abortion should be made “between the patient and the doctor.”
Conservative McCain opponent Alexander Meluskey heavily criticized both McCain and Ward in comments he made today in Scottsdale:
“Many of us have known for years that Senator McCain’s pro-life label is little more than a cheap facade. He has voted to fund Planned Parenthood again and again for decades, and his political operations have always been geared toward helping pro-abortion forces in the GOP. Kelli Ward’s claims are even thinner. The fact is my opponents cannot be trusted to protect the supreme individual right to life.”
“If the people of Arizona see fit to send me to represent them in the U.S. Senate, I will keep my oath to provide equal protection for the right to life of every person in this country, born or unborn, as our Constitution explicitly requires,” Meluskey added. “And I certainly won’t vote to spend the hard-earned money of my constituents to kill children overseas. Americans are tired of politicians who do not consistently stand on principle, especially when it comes to the protection of the most innocent and vulnerable among us.”
Small businessman, radio host and FAIRtax champion Alex Meluskey is running a grassroots campaign to take on sitting U.S. Senator John McCain in the Arizona Republican Primary in the same vein as now-Congressman Dave Brat’s historic 2014 takedown of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Mr. Meluskey is taking on the establishment in Washington, D.C. and an entrenched 5-term Senator at a time when America needs new ideas to solve our nation’s challenges.
