PRESS RELEASE--McCain Primary Challenger: Racial Problems Must be Addressed
Scottsdale, AZ – In response to the events in Dallas, Texas, Alex Meluskey, primary challenger to Senator John McCain, has released the following statement on the Dallas Shooting.
“As we mourn the deaths of the brave officers of the Dallas police forces, today we are facing tough questions about who we are as a people. The racial problems in this country must be addressed by each and every one of us, but we must understand that there is no legislative solution and there is no silver bullet.
We must continue to educate and address these questions with our children and arm them with the words of Dr. Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy which ring truer today than ever before. MLK famously said “returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.” We must stop the violence and find our compassion. JFK told us about the greatest adversary we’ve ever faced “our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal.”
With these questions, it is important to realize that the adversary is not some foreign power or terrorists, and this is not about political or legislative fixes because there are none. The adversary may be tougher to deal with than the Soviets were. The adversary is ourselves.”
Small businessman, radio host and FAIRtax champion Alex Meluskey is running a grassroots campaign to take on sitting U.S. Senator John McCain in the Arizona Republican Primary in the same vein as now-Congressman Dave Brat’s historic 2014 takedown of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Mr. Meluskey is taking on the establishment in Washington, D.C. and an entrenched 5-term Senator at a time when America needs new ideas to solve our nation’s challenges.
