Has your government refused to assent to laws that are necessary for the public good?
Has your government forbidden governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation until permission is obtained; and when so suspended, therefore neglecting to attend to them?
Has your government refused to pass other laws for the people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only?
These are just a few of the original arguments for our separation from the English Empire.
Two hundred and thirty nine years later I believe we find our current leadership in Washington DC has failed to live up to the rules set before them and has ignored the rules through disregard of laws made by man for man.
If we are to assume this great republic shall stand much longer, then there is a pressing need to find leadership that understands that rules are rules for a reason, and that much of the current bloated, complicated, poorly written, short-sighted and ill-conceived laws put in place during times of poor leadership put the people in a precarious place.
Our wise founders created for us a simple guide to follow, yet the laws our representatives have created for us to follow in recent times are hardly simple, and not recognizable as morally or logically placed. I hardly blame the people for any amount of confusion or resignation in their fight for correction.
I implore the people of these United States of America to not turn your shoulder, to realize you do make a difference, and can make a difference in bringing this country back to a time where the rules were easier to follow and when you were in control, not the government.
Benjamin Franklin once said we had a Republic if we could keep it.
Madison figured the states would be able to balance the Federal government from gaining too much power.
I believe you can make a difference as one of the people to use your voice to call on the salvation of this great nation.
Happy Birthday, and God Bless you America,
